Annette Adler’s music reminds us of the beauty in the world, of finding hope and inspiration in family, friendship and love. She brings the California sunshine into her writing!

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Annette’s first memories involve making music, which quickly became her passion. Her studies led her to become a classical guitarist, a professional wedding singer and to land a job with Capitol/EMI Records.

Once her sons came along, she continued to keep music in her life by becoming a music educator, a performing musician, an active supporter of her children’s school music programs and the leader of her uke group. While teaching at the elementary school, she was led to two other artist moms, Kelly Macleod and Mairéad MacMullan and they formed an Americana trio called the Mama Bears. This group inspired Annette to revisit her own music and she returned to her love of songwriting.

Working with producer, Aaron Liebman, she released her debut album
Color My World, which charted on the FAI folk charts and aired on many distinguished folk DJ programs. “The songs on this album are about the human connections and experiences that make life worth living,” Adler said. Her folk, Americana songs of relatable truth tell stories drawn from her life as a wife, mother, sister, friend and advocate for children through her work with her students.

In the spirit of collaboration, Annette launched a YouTube series called “Annette’s Duets.” On the show, Annette interviews local artists and enjoys the chance to make music with gifted musicians. A recent co-write with fellow artist Mary Lou Fulton, generated an inviting tune called “Come Along” that was featured on the United Nation’s Human Solidarity Day and was a finalist in the Renaissance Artists and Writers Association’s “Songs For Social Change” song competition and album compilation.

Now she brings a new collection of songs called
Mama Proud that were written for her sons and released in memory of her mom Marguerite and her mother-in-law Irene. The songs on Mama Proud come from Adlers’ own experiences as a parent and from the collective voice of fellow mothers whom she calls her “Mom Village.” Blending several genres for a folk, Americana sound, the album brings together anthems, hootenannies, bluesy ballads, island vibes and inviting sing-a-longs. These tunes are filled with powerful simplicity that aim to nurture, ground and empower not only her sons but listeners too. Throughout the album, listeners will get a sense of what moms are really thinking even if they don’t always say so. It will speak not only to mothers, but anyone who has navigated the emotional rollercoaster of parenting.

Annette’s gift of memorable melodies and lyrics have earned her recognition from the International Songwriting Competition, The Renaissance Artists and Writers Association and music reviewers who say she strikes a rare inroad between Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline and the Indigo Girls, while also meeting at the crossroads between Loretta Lynn and Joni Mitchell. Fans of Brandi Carlile, Sheryl Crow and The Chicks will find something to enjoy in her music too!

The time is right for songs that will fill your heart; Adler’s music does exactly that!
